Fraudsters allegedly bought<\/a> luxury cars, boats, jewelry, properties, and more with around $250 million stolen from the Federal Child Nutrition Program, ABC News reported<\/a> of an audit report and court documents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crime ring used a nonprofit organization called \u201cFeeding Our Future\u201d to launder \u201cmillions of dollars in program funds that were intended as reimbursements for the cost of serving meals to children,\u201d the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) said when it indicted<\/a> 47 people related to the scheme in September 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abdiaziz Shafii Farah, 35; Abdimajid Mohamed Nur, 23; Said Shafii Farah, 42; Abdulkarim Shafii Farah, 24; and Ladan Mohamed Ali, 31, are all accused of conspiring to bribe one of the jurors to return a not guilty verdict, FOX 9\u00a0reported<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Abdiaziz Shafii Farah, 35, of Savage, guilty of 23 of 24 counts. Farah was found not guilty of one count of wire fraud.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Mohamed Jama Ismail, 51, of Savage, guilty of three of the four counts against him. The not-guilty verdict came on the same wire fraud count as Farah.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Abdimajid Mohamed Nur, 23, of Shakopee, guilty of 10 of the 13 counts. Nur was found not guilty on three counts of money laundering.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Said Shafii Farah not guilty of all nine counts against him.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Abdiwahab Maalim Aftin not guilty of all three counts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Mukhtar Mohamed Shariff, 33, of Bloomington, guilty on three of six counts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
