However, a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cochrane.org\/CD006207\/ARI_do-physical-measures-such-hand-washing-or-wearing-masks-stop-or-slow-down-spread-respiratory-viruses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cochrane study<\/a>&nbsp;by Jefferson et al. and a report of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecdc.europa.eu\/sites\/default\/files\/documents\/covid-19-face-masks-community-first-update.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">European Center of Disease Control<\/a>&nbsp;concluded there is no high-quality evidence in favor of facemasks. No association was observed between mask mandates or use and reduced Covid-19 spread in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/escipub.com\/irjph-2021-08-1005\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">US states<\/a>. Up to now there are no results available of randomized clinical trials that could demonstrate beyond any doubt that wearing masks prevent people from viral infection and could slow the spread of the virus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Randomized controlled trials during this pandemic on the effects of wearing medical masks in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/33205991\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Denmark&nbsp;<\/a>by the general population could not alter the conclusions of previous trials with (medical) masks on the spread of i<a href=\"https:\/\/bmjopen.bmj.com\/content\/5\/4\/e006577\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">nfluenza virus<\/a>&nbsp;in a hospital setting or in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/wwwnc.cdc.gov\/eid\/article\/26\/5\/19-0994_article\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">non healthcare settings<\/a>&nbsp;there is no substantial effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-truth-based-media wp-block-embed-truth-based-media\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/truthbasedmedia.com\/2021\/11\/15\/why-mask-mandates-should-be-immediately-banned\/\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Rochelle Walensky from CDC is claiming in advertisements, without evidence, that wearing a mask could reduce the risk of infection by 80%.
